Festivals are more than just a celebration of religious values; they are unifiers of community and marshal a sense of communal belonging amongst the people. In these times, when our sense of community has been so frayed and social distancing has made us feel so incredibly isolated, celebrating important festivals becomes even more pertinent to communal well-being. While it is obviously not safe to gather in large numbers, we can still celebrate by dressing up to the nines and holding smaller gatherings with just close family and friends.
Some other ways to celebrate this festive season safely are:
Put on Zebein’s new Gul-e-Shamma kalidar kurti set and your shiniest jhumkas to make yourself camera ready! Gather your extended family together on a zoom call, sing bhajans together, coordinate your aartis, and, at the same time, bask in the admiration of all your relatives.
PERSONAL GARBA NIGHTS:
Gather a small group of close friends and family, find a Bluetooth speaker and a playlist of the classic Garba songs on YouTube. Decorate your terrace with fairy lights, flowers, and diyas. Then all that’s left to do is pull on Zebein’s Kaneer Sharara Set and dance with your closest friends under the stars in your own personal Raas-Garba.
Once the pooja and the aarti are done, once the Rangoli is set and the diyas are lit and the house is settled, whip out a pack of cards and bring the family together for a heated game of rummy or just a simple battle of UNO. Oh and don’t forget to wear a lovely dress from Zebein’s Guldasta collection so you can look fabulous while pocketing your winnings.
