Every collection at Zebein begins long before you see it on the rack. It begins in conversations, moodboards, late-night scribbles, and tiny scraps of fabric pinned to our studio walls. It begins with curiosity, chaos, imagination—and the desire to create pieces women will genuinely feel connected to.

Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes to show you how our collections come alive—from the first spark to the final frame.

1. Research, Brainstorming & Trials — Where Imagination Takes Shape
Once the idea of a collection takes root, the real storytelling begins. We spend days exploring themes that feel close to who we are. And almost always, we return to two eternal muses: women and nature.
Why these two?
Because they share the same spirit—soft yet strong, gentle yet fierce, rooted yet constantly evolving. Our walls slowly fill up with rough sketches, dried leaves, pressed flowers, cut-outs from old books, poems, Pinterest clippings, and colours that make us pause. This is where the identity of the collection quietly takes birth—messy, emotional, and beautifully human.

2. Colour Selection — The Mood of the Collection
Colours decide the atmosphere of the season. They’re the emotion you feel before you even touch the fabric. We don’t pick shades randomly. We study global trends, seasonal palettes, forecast reports, and what women are naturally gravitating toward.
At times, we find colours online. Other times, we paint swatches, flip through old art books, or find the perfect shade in an everyday object—an old ceramic cup, a leaf, a silk ribbon. And we don’t stop at garment colours. We choose embroidery thread shades with equal intention—because a single thread has the power to turn a motif from quiet to statement.

That’s the magic of colour.

3. Fabrics — Where Every Collection Truly Begins
The first rule at Zebein is simple: touch the fabric, understand the fabric, fall in love with the fabric.
Our hero? Pure linen.
The friend who shows up in every season—summer, winter, brunches, travels, and even small celebrations. Breezy, breathable, durable, graceful. No matter how trends shift, linen stands firm. But festive moods deserve their own drama. That’s when we turn to pure silk, silk organza, silk tissue, crush tissue, organza silk, chanderi, and fine cotton. Each brings its own personality—sheen, fall, crispness, richness—which helps us shape silhouettes that celebrate all types of occasions.
Season matters.
So the fabric always comes first.

4. Surface Techniques & Materials — Where Details Do the Talking

This is where our playground begins. For linen, we explore printed linens and anchor-thread embroidery—clean, breathable, textured, soulful. For festive pieces, we bring out the big guns:
Anchor threads on silk, chanderi, organza, tissue
Zari (kasab) for that soft metallic charm
Sadi—a spiralled, hollow wire that adds weight, shine, and drama
Additional materials layered in to give festive fabrics the fall and richness they deserve. Every motif, every stitch, every shimmer has a purpose.

5. Story Weaving — The Heart of Everything We Create
Every collection at Zebein needs a soul. Something that guides the colours, the silhouettes, the motifs, the textures.
As we said before, the soul of everything we create always finds its way back to women and nature. Because women embody resilience, fluidity, softness, unpredictability. And nature mirrors the same qualities—quiet, wild, nurturing, ever-changing.
Thread by thread, this story moves into the garments.
Some pieces reflect calmness.

6. Sampling — The Stage Where Ideas Finally Breathe

This is the most exciting (and often chaotic) part. The studio turns into a playground. Our tables fill with swatches, test motifs, loose threads, button trials, scribbles, and half-done experiments. We test everything—
• thread colours
• motif size
• placements
• textures
• trims
• necklines & sleeves

Some samples feel perfect the moment we see them. Some need quiet reworking.
Some get left behind completely. But piece by piece, the collection finds its personality—comfortable, conscious, fresh, and true to the story we’re trying to tell.


7. The Photoshoot — When the Story Steps Into the World
After endless refining, the collection is finally ready to be seen. The photoshoot isn’t just a shoot—it’s the moment the story breathes. We choose locations that match the mood. Lights that flatter the fabrics. Movement that brings out the fluidity. A muse who embodies the emotion of the season. The camera captures what words can’t.
And suddenly, everything we imagined becomes real.
